Hi! IāmĀ Alaina
................
In 2012 I began to work with hurting people. I learned quickly that I had a heart for those struggling with and impacted by addiction. I have worked with addicts and their family members in a variety of settings: residential services, intensive outpatient, outpatient and in-home therapy.
Trained to Help
................
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. I have a specialty certification and four years of experience working with betrayal trauma, but beyond that I also have the lived experience of being in dating relationships where infidelity has taken place. I understand some of what betrayed partners go through because I have walked this path myself.
Betrayal trauma is generally a very isolating event. We heal through connection to others. By learning and growing it is possible to heal and rebuild connections as well as form healthy new ones.
I want you to be seen, heard, and healed
My passion is to help those who feel unseen and unheard learn that they are valuable, and worthy and that they have a voice. Betrayal trauma is an invisible wound, and many partners feel they go unnoticed and uncared for in this journey. My hope is to join with those who experience this and help them to find hope, purpose and beauty in the midst of a deeply painful and often private situation.
RestorationĀ
I love helping and watching women who have been impacted by trauma find their footing again. Seeing someone who believes they are alone learn that they are not alone, and getting them connected to education and a community that empowers them gets me excited.
And that's why I created this course. To give you the information you need to be empowered to move forward in recovery and to know you are not alone.
My Passion
I am passionate about getting education into the hands of those who need it most. I am outgoing and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. I also work to be approachable, warm, and soft because those with trauma need a safe space to heal and I strive to provide that for them.
I created a local in person support group for women dealing with betrayal trauma issues and it is now in its fourth year. I spoke at the 2023 Church Ministries Conference in Grand Rapids, Mi to pastors and church members about betrayal trauma. I spoke at Maple Avenue Church in a special series about trauma and the church.
My goal is for no woman to suffer inĀ silence alone. Ā
